iPhones…. the powerful, wonderful camera that everyone has. I get asked all of the time, what camera do you recommend and you may remember I had big plans to teach you all how to use your iPhone in a successful way. Well, life happened, and this never did. So today, I want to continue down the iPhone photography road and show you that this little device that we carry with us everyday can take amazing pictures if you know what to do with it.
The first thing you have to be aware of is your light, light, light!!! LIGHT is always huge in photography. Over the past few weeks, as I’ve passed my phone off for a picture of a friend and me, I realized that I am constantly telling people, oh turn us a little bit. Move to the right and shoot from there. What am I actually doing? I’m turning our faces towards the light. Be aware of where the windows are in the space you are taking the picture and turn your faces towards the light.
My friend Jill is going to help me explain this.
On this first picture, she just stood right where we were talking. Which happens a lot. Your kid is playing, group of girl friends are chatting and you think… I should snap a picture, without even thinking about your surroundings.
Well…. here is the result. It’s awful. Terrible. BUT….
While we have not arrived at the perfect photo yet, we are so much better then we were before. Just by the tilt of the chair.
Images taken with iPhone 6s Plus in Camera Plus App with no settings changed.
I’m going to be sharing my favorite apps and editing tools on my phone and some more iphone secrets to come! Subscribe in the left hand side if you want to get more of these tips!
