Just this week, I can think of about 10 things my mother has helped me with. Things she’s picked up for me, or watched my tiny human on short notice, or listened to me complain about who knows what. And the truth is, this happens on a weekly basis… ever since I was born.
I can remember calling my mom from school office in tears that I forgot some huge homework assignment or even just my lunch. It never failed that she would bring me whatever was left behind. I really would forget my head if it weren’t attached. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this in my lifetime.
She puts up with my daily phone calls on my way to Morton, sometimes well before she’s ready to wake up, or her hair isn’t dry from the shower. Yet, she sits and talks to me.
That landscaping at the studio… how many times have we slaved away to make it look perfect and get every weed out.
She sat with me in the hospital, day after day I was in the hospital before my tiny human was born. And day after day while he was in the NICU, she sat there, drove there multiple times a day.
We should have Mother’s Day more then once a year, because she sure does deserve a lot more then a day. Happy Mother’s Day Mom! I love you!
And we really should take a picture together…. turns out we don’t have many.
